These images show how I created my textiles collage , I used purple , blue and orange fabrics because they are my mums favourite colours and my theme is going to be based on my mum.
We visited the Tate and Walker Galleries in Liverpool to collect primary research , overall I didn’t connect with any of the pieces of art in the two galleries due to the work not having any correlation to my theme , although the trip helped me with the composition of my final piece.
‘Coffee Time’ by Rhoda Forbes, 2010, 16.000 x 20.000 inches , Mixed Media – Textiles
I was inspired by Rhoda Forbes work in my textiles work , I really like the was she connected different fabrics together to create one whole piece , I interpreted this into patchwork and connected 5 different fabrics, I thought this would add more skills to my final piece as I had never created a ‘quilt’ from patchwork , I did not use a similar colour scheme as Forbes due to how dark it was but I liked her a joining fabrics
This is my final milk bottle , I really like the way the colours contrast each other , the pattern I created fits very well with the bigger milk bottle and I also like the scale of the smaller milk bottles.
This is the final pattern for my large milk bottle, I think the colours are very vibrant and are of a similar colour pallet of Robert Frank Harvey the artist that I looked at for inspiration, I really think the colours compliment each other very well. I decided to use this in my final piece because I thought the colours would contrast the 4dark colours of my final milk bottle outline.
This is the first pattern I created , I used my original milk bottle to create this , I decided to keep the colour the same on the pattern and I set it to a Hex by column so the milk bottles would overlap , this is the type of pattern I will be using for my final piece but with colours similar to Robert Frank Hunters work.
This milk bottle shows how the pattern looks all over the milk bottle , even though I like how this looks I would prefer the bottle to have a different coloured cap but I was just testing how it would look in the milk bottle shape.
The image below shows a different colour pallet for the milk bottle , I made the milk bottle a more muted colour so that it wasn’t as vibrant and so that it doesn’t stand out as much , I all mad a pattern for this colour scheme and put them side by side to compare, over all I prefer the grey pattern and milk bottle because it looks more sleek.
The image below is the image I used as a template to create my milk bottle outline in illustrator.
The image below is the milk bottle I created to do this is used the pen tool and stroke/fill , I kept the milk bottle plain and added red to the cap to make it stand out , I believe the milk bottle is very close to the original without the extra detail , this is the outline I will be using for my final piece.
